a head full of dreams

Jay Jays pants, Nike sneakers, Katies denim jacket, Venus Flytrap Tee & Rubi hat

Here we are, finding ourselves on the last day of school holidays and I hope this Sunday goes on forever. It's not that I don't like school but the thought of my alarm going off at 6:30am tomorrow morning is something that isn't making me too happy. It will be good to get back into routine and actually know what the day of the week is though.

This outfit is one of my current favourites mainly because of this new hat I got recently. It's a grey felt / woven effect with a black band around the top and sort of a stretchy material so it fits my head without the worry of it flying off into the distance. I paired it with my denim jacket since I figured it needed to make an appearance on the blog again sometime soon and a pair of black skinnies since I wasn't feeling the whole denim on denim vibe. With the addition of a graphic tee and some Nike sneakers, this ensemble is my perfect casual Autumn look. It's something simple and minimal but the graphic adds a bit of personality and jazzes up the outfit.

I'm off to get my things ready for tomorrow's early start and relish in my freedom that will only last a few more hours. I'll have a new post up on Friday night so keep your eyes peeled for that and don't forget to follow my Instagram (in the side bar) to stay updated with what's going on. Hope you are all doing well and keep dreaming.

Car SOS - a sneak preview of tonight's show

We love Car SOS in the Classic Car Weekly office. It's proper petrolhead telly - and it keeps the forced drama to a minimum.

There's a new series starting tonight and the opening episode's restoration of a Volvo P1800 has an added draw - the legend that is Sir Roger Moore, who drove one in The Saint, makes an appearance to give the work of Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw the thumbs up! I saw the finished car when it was revealed at last November's NEC Classic Motor Show and it looked stunning, so I can't wait to see what restoration wonders the team worked on it.

There's also an AC Aceca, a BMW 2002 Turbo and a Datsun 240Z to look out for later in the series, so if you love classics with a good tale behind them it's well worth tuning in.

Car SOS starts tonight at 8pm on the National Geographic Channel.

pinterest mood board / one

Things have been quite around these parts recently. I thought there would be so many posts going up these past two weeks since I am currently on an Easter break but I didn't realise just how tired and mentally drained I was, then I got a twenty four hour virus and I did not have the energy to do anything but sleep and eat breakfast cereal for breakfast, lunch and tea [which I didn't, do not worry]. Which leads to me to this post here - my first ever mood board with pretty pictures and style inspiration that I found whilst scrolling through my Pinterest feed.

So currently my aesthetics include minimal style and basic tees and shirts, black and white photography, an urge to create something beautiful, plants, an obsession with owning my first pair of trousers, loving the delicate look of piercings and platinum blonde hair + finally unique decor prints and hanging light bulbs.

I have a few ideas on some other posts that I am excited to share with you and today I am hoping to shoot a couple of outfits that I have planned out. Hope you all are doing well, had a lovely Easter and are enjoying your week.

On lemon pound cakes. Or house-hunting. Or being bitter.

Imagine walking into Starbucks, FINALLY, after you have been fighting a day-long sweet tooth, stood patiently in line, walked up to the counter only to be told that the person in front of you bought the last Iced Lemon Pound Cake they had.

Yes, I am equating this house-hunting process to Starbucks pastries. And no, I see no issues with that.

Then imagine you tuck in your pouty lip, and go find another Starbucks, and you see that lucious, zesty Iced Lemon Pound Cake just flirting with you from the case. She's a beaut. And you order it, and your giddy and your mouth is watering, and the barista tells you that she's going to cost you roughly 4x what she's worth. And you try to reassure them that all other Starbuck's only sell them for a fraction of the cost, but the barista isn't budging.

And you untuck your pouty lip, and hand the most perfect little pound cake back, and walk out the door.

And every other Starbucks sucks. And every other pound cake has sucked since then. And you are about to become paleo just so you can't even EAT a pound cake even if you found one.

I'm not bitter or anything. I'm totally cool with house-hunting. I don't take it personally, or get upset, or fall in love with any of the houses. Me? No. Nooo.

We're back to square one. For the third time. Blah blah blah, don't try feeding me the 'we'll stumble upon the most perfect one when we least expect it' line, my level of patience is on par with that of a toddler.

Also, I've really been craving a lemon pound cake.

in my overalls

Cotton On Overalls, Supre Tee, Converse Sneakers & Jayco Cap

This is sort of weird...posting on a Wednesday night. But school finishes tomorrow, all my assessment tasks are finished and I have zero homework. So I guess you could say I am feeling pretty good right now and very excited for two full week off of doing nothing [apart from the odd bit of homework, but that can wait for now]. I also wanted to catch you all on what has been going in my world since I wasn't able to post on the weekend [again, blame homework] and I just really wanted to share these photos with you since I am surprisingly loving this outfit.

I wanted to style my overalls for a second time but I felt that my last post showcasing these guys was a bit boring. So I jazzed things up with a little peach top and my new favourite thing - my old Jayco cap [memories of some old festival]. It all looks a bit like 'lets fix up the back fence since I busted it up driving the motorcycle' or something like that, I'm not sure. I'm a bit tired but on a sugar high from eating three chocolate cupcakes at lunch so excuse any mistakes or weird bits of grammar in this post. But I love the look of this outfit and how different it is from my usual style.

So, tomorrow is my last day of school then I have dance then I can sleep in till 11 then I am out for Good Friday lunch then sleep for the rest of Saturday then another family lunch on Sunday for Easter and my holidays officially start. I'm pretty excited *don't know if you could tell* and I am hoping, crossing all my fingers and toes, that I can be a mad lady and shoot so many blog posts that I won't know what to do with them all.

Have a great Easter if I don't speak to you between now and Sunday, even though I probably will.

Ciao!

Lotsa love, Chelsea xo

PS - Again, sorry for any spelling errors. I just really wanted to talk to you guys and share the photos.

swinging around

Before we go any further, let me just scream from the roof tops that AUTUMN IN HERE. After three very long months of hot weather, I can say goodbye to my sandals and shorts and hello to my grey knits and jeans. It was raining a few days ago, like actually water falling from the sky. All. Day. Long. I was so happy! Although there will be a few more summer inspired outfits popping up here and there in the next few months, mainly we will be sticking to the Autumnal style from now.

So how have you all been? Hopefully this last week treated you well and the long weekend will be treating you even better.
Last weekend I went out to shoot five blog posts and this here was one of them. I'm really happy with how the photos turned out and how the background looks in the location we shot at. The dress is one of my favourite since I love the pattern and how it just falls from your shoulders in a swing style. Plus it has pockets and is such a soft material. I went extremely minimal with this look and just put on my pair of heels of Cotton On and bam! the outfit was done but it looked put together, classic and I felt like I was wearing my PJs.

Hope you enjoyed the photo and are enjoying your day.
