postcard from kyneton

Hey there lovelies!

I'm back with another volume in my postcard travel series. Since it was my dad's birthday, yesterday my family and I travelled up the Kyneton in the Macedon Ranges for the day. We had only been there a few times and I remembered barely anything from the town so this time we walked around the streets a bit more which was very nice and relaxing.

First stop though was Daylesford about an hour's drive away from Kyneton. We go there quite a bit but had a quick cuppa and snack at their chocolate place over there and briefly walked up and down the main street, in and out of the shops.

When we finally arrived at Kyneton, and I did feel a tad travel sickness may I add, we went to find somewhere to have lunch. We sat down at the locally pub that was just down the street and I ordered a classic gnocchi dish with sauce and cheese. From there we just wandered around, through both the town central and residential areas. Dad, mum and my sister got something to eat from the bakery there and we ate that near their town hall / memorial site.

After leaving Kyneton, we headed back to Daylesford and stopped to eat at a local restaurant (who's name escapes me). We ordered a few wood over pizzas and they were so tasty, some of the very best!

Not only is there this photo diary I created but I also vlogged a little bit too. I was editing this morning a video I put together and I'm crossing my fingers that that'll be up on Wednesday some time.

Today we walked along the beach (post coming soon on that too) and tomorrow I'm going to Melbourne to expect a post and maybe even a video from then as well.

Hope you all have an amazing week and I will see you soon.
Much love, Chelsea x

sweet mornings

Today I spent the morning with April of Everything April and had the loveliest time. April and I have been friends for quite a while, we meet in Grade 2 and were in the same class but thanks to blogging we have reunited and have done two previous posts together (here and here).

Since I was a bit earlier, I popped past the local bakery and picked up this delish little treat, a cinnamon sweet loaf. April and I were wondering what you would call it because it was quite a bun yet not a full bread. It was super tasty and accompanied with some sweet peppermint tea in cute little cups, it made the perfect morning treat.

We walked over to the oval next to April's place and found this white slab in the middle. It was super bright outside but we decided to take some photos of each other walking, jumping and posing for the camera. We edited out photos together and she showed me Snapchat which she uses to show her readers behind the scenes of her Instagram + blog. Let me know if I should get Snapchat because I am thinking that I might!

Thank you April for having me, it is always a pleasure to catch up with you! And I am very jealous of  Saltwater Sandals too!

little darling

Finally the first of the photos I shot a few days ago have arrived. These where the first that my mum has taken for me and she has done an amazing job. She warned my before saying she was terrible at taking photos but then confessed she has loved photography and presented me with these on my camera - I just love the way they turned out!

Currently I am all tucked up in bed with my comfy doona and surrounded by pillows with my laptop and watching Body of Proof since I had a shocking head ache. I wish I could just sleep until November. But I'm catching up April of Everything April tomorrow so expect a post on my day with her shortly.

Have the best week. I hope your liking how regularly I'm posting 'cause I sure am.
Much love, Chelsea x

Oh hey.

I actually wasn't kidnapped returning from Nicaragua 6 months ago (side note: was that really only six months?!)

I just... you know.... got busy with life, stumbled upon a semi-decent dude, took a few trips with him... haven't found out he's married or has kids yet, so I'm content with letting him stick around.

Went on one hell of a trip to Ireland with a couple of my closest girlfriends. (Getting home really was the equivalent of hell.)

All in all, not much else is new. Done a few minor projects on the ol casa. Celebrated the 7th year anniversary of working at the house of booze. Still continue to keep the mutt alive, despite killing every house plant I've adopted in the same time frame.

Liv's scans continue to come back clear. I don't know what sort of timeline cancer has where it just decides to give up and stop trying to come back, but I'm definitely ready for that.

It's weird to think I used to write here daily. That I had friends come stay with me that I met through here, that I have a best friend who I started talking to thanks to blogging. I kind of miss it, I won't lie. Maybe I'll start popping in telling a story here and there a little more often.

I know you're all dying to know what exactly I've been up to. Snapchat is such a cliffhanger.

Blogging's making a comeback, you know? Facebook said so.

union street

For my birthday, I received tickets to go up to Melbourne and see Strictly Ballroom The Musical. Firstly, let me just tell you just how bloody brilliant Thomas Lacey was - he played Scott Hastings. I may have cried a little because I was so proud of how far he had come since Ben Tickle days (Google it). The dancing, the music, the entire atmosphere was incredible and it is so close to the standard set by Les Mis when I saw that back in December.

We, being my mum and I, took some photos at the famous graffiti lanes. It was sort of awkward since a lot of people were staring and looking at me posing and such. Still not used to the blogging in public situation.

For lunch we ate at Locanda, an Italian Restaurant across the road from the theatre. Both of us ordered spinach risottos with feta, leek and hazelnuts + for dessert I chose a mango panacotta with a coconut cream - which was so yummy! And mum got a brownie type cake with pistachios and raspberries.

So the show was phenomenal, the food was amazing and I had the best time walking around the shops. Especially H&M, my new found love. I may even do a mini haul of some of the things I got some time soon so keep your eyes peeled for that. And I learnt a very important lesson - don't wear boots that you are just breaking in when you're planning on walking everywhere.

Next weekend, I'm back in Melbs for another exciting show in the evening.
Much love, Chelsea x
